First Dance Figurine 3629 by F.G Doughty

Beauty Spot, c1965

Royal Worcester RW3629 First Dance

An early edition and rare colourway, wide green dress with pink shawl fringed in black. The figurine captures the tentative moment a young lady takes her "first dance". No two hand painted figurines will ever be exactly the same and the artist who painted this lady has made that point by applying a very unique beauty spot on her right cheek. just above her lips.

First Dance was originally issued 1957 - c1980. She was designed and modelled by Freda G. Doughty.

This model has a black ink printed back stamp with a series of 15 dots above and around the Bone ® China. Relatively rare back stamp for this figurine with dots dating it to 1965, towards the very last year that Royal Worcester used the dot date coding system and moved to a new back stamp. The majority of these figurines have the 1970's and 1980's back stamp.
