An especially high quality solid brass timepiece carriage clock made by the prestigious clockmaker L'Epee.
L'Epee clocks are hand made using broadly the same mechanical construction over the last 150 years. The modern equivalent model currently made by L'Epee is the Anglaise using the Caliber 1754 8-day 11- jewel mechanical movement.
Original blued steel breguet hands on a perfect white enamel dial. Marked L'Epée Fondé en 1839 Sainte Suzanne France. The movement is 11 Jewelled 8 day impressed with the L'Epee crossed sword seal and stamped made in France with further stamped L'Epee serial number.
12cm high (15.5cm including handle), 8cm wide and 7cm deep. Weight just over 1Kg.
An original L'Epee clock benefiting from being marked as a L'Epee on the dial and the movement and marked made in France, L'Epee serial number stamped into the movement.
Complete with original key and thick bevelled mineral glass, recently given a light service and keeping perfect time. The Carriage clock has an 8 day movement, meaning it will continue for 8 days on one complete wind.
Most definitely not one of the many convincing Chinese copies that circulate on ebay.
